"Patterns"
Our last lesson was on patterns. We asked the girls to capture the patterns all around them.
"Lines"
Today the lesson was on lines. The girls were encouraged to look for lines in every day landscapes around the Daughters House. We have noticed progress in some of the girls’ work. They seem to be developing a sense of composition. Some of their photos are really impressive considering they have never been exposed to this form of art before.
"Shapes"
Today the lesson was to take pictures of shapes. We asked them to look around where they live for circles, squares, rectangles, ovals and triangles. This is what they found.
"What is beautiful and what is ugly at home?"
Today we combined our last two projects and took the girls to their homes. They were assigned to take five ugly and five beautiful pictures. Many of them neglected to take their five beautiful pictures at their house. They have communicated with us that it is much harder for them to take pictures of beautiful things. What you see from their “ugly” pictures is what they are surrounded...
